30 Weeks & Room Makeovers

I had an Ob check-up on April 16th (which also happened to be our 5 year wedding anniversary!). This month was my glucose test and all was well there. Although that drink makes me nauseous I made it through my hour, whew. It helped that Kevin was with me to distract me from thinking about it too much. So far I have gained 19 pounds! I guess I’m a couple pounds above where I was with Ellie but it is all in a ball right there with baby. Baby Girl’s heart rate was 140 during the check-up. She sounds excellent! My next appointment will be in one month and after that it’s two weeks, then every week. The countdown is on! I’m officially 30 weeks pregnant and still can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going.
I set up some poses and Kevin took my official pregnancy pictures. Here they are!

I’ve been working on getting things together for the baby’s room over the past couple weeks. I made curtains and a crib skirt (a small miracle if you know how I sew or should I say DON'T sew!). Ellie did some sewing with me, too. As long as she is doing exactly what you are doing at all times she is happy!

Grandma Joe came down to help paint and get things decorated. We had a busy few days! I drew and painted a silhouette of a little girl blowing bubbles for the room, I really like how it turned out. Over the weekend Grandpa & Grandma Schmidt came and got our guest bed out of the room and helped set up the crib. Here’s how the room turned out:

This is Baby Girl's coming home outfit. I thought she needed one brand new thing. Thanks Grandma!

Ellie had a big girl room makeover when we got her bed in January, here's what her room looks like:

Ellie is getting very excited for “Baby Sister” to arrive. She got a new baby book and I caught her reading it to her baby Annie one afternoon, so cute!

She talks about Baby Sister all the time and is excited to share toys and play with her…she said it, not me! I know it’ll be a huge adjustment for her but she’ll be in “super helper” mode once baby arrives. There's not much time left now, she'll be here before we know it!
