A Day in Des Moines

I'm goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo! How about you, you, you? (another Raffi song, we just can't get enough....or can we?)



After our busy first weekend in August we decided to keep the momentum going. On Sunday we headed down to Des Moines to visit Kevin's grandma and to visit the zoo! The Blank Park Zoo is the perfect size for a three-year-old. Ellie walked most of it and there were enough animals to keep things interesting. The train was a fun extra, too.











Of course Grandma loved meeting Katelyn and seeing Ellie in action once again. Such a busy girl!



Katelyn is really starting to take off. She rolled over twice the day of the heart walk at only 6 weeks old and her smiles have been lighting up the house. It seems like she's already starting to develop a little personality by the faces she makes and the cooing sounds that accompany them. We might have two little chatterboxes on our hands!







After a busy day at the zoo and playing with Grandma Ellie was worn out. She grabbed the comics on our way out the door and feel asleep "reading" them in the car. What a girl.
