Welcome Katelyn!

We welcomed Katelyn Jane into our family on July 1st at 9:26am. She weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and was 19 1/4" long. Two weeks later at her first doctor's visit she was already up to 7lbs. 6oz. and 21 3/4" long! She is eating like a champ and growing like a pretty little weed! Katelyn only wakes up twice in the night to eat and then goes right back to sleep, who could ask for anything more? She is a relaxed baby who makes things very easy for her mommy and daddy. She is just so sweet and we feel very blessed to have her in our family.

Ellie is LOVING her baby sister. Every morning she gets up and goes straight into her room. Then if she's not there Ellie is on the hunt to find her! We're still trying to work on personal space issues with her and Katelyn. Ellie just loves her too much sometimes. Just give it six months or so when Katelyn starts crawling after Ellie!

Here are a couple of Katelyn's first photos from the hospital....

*Sweet Corn Days*
We decided to venture out with our new family of four this weekend. It was Sweet Corn Days in Elkader and Ellie needed to get out of the house! She really enjoyed her weekend playing with cousins and keeping really busy (and in turn giving Katelyn some breathing room for a couple days!). It was nice to have a break from the new, busier daily routine.

Ellie and Katelyn getting ready for a walk in Bob (our sweet new stroller! Yeah, that's right I said it, this stroller is sweet!)

Ellie with cousin Henry waiting for more candy at the parade. They are so cute together and have so much fun with each other.

Mmmm, Tootsie Roll!

Ellie and cousin Amy in Uncle Brad's new, old car. They are all set for the car cruise!

Grandma Joe with the two girls.

"Mommy has two girls now. Two girls. TWO!" Quote from Ellie the night Katelyn was born.
