7 Week Ultrasound Photo
December 15th was my 11-week ob appointment. Everything went well, no weight gain yet but my jeans tell me I’m growing a little. The baby’s heart rate was 175. I kept a journal with Ellie and our first appointment with her she had a heart rate of 150. Hmm, it just keeps you wondering whether it’s a boy or girl. Any guesses? I already have plans for turning the guest bedroom into our new nursery whether it’s blue or pink. Of course we don’t care what it is as long as we have a healthy baby.
My next appointment will be January 12th. That will be another routine check-up. Things are already going so much faster this time around. It might be because I have a spunky two-year-old to keep up with! My doctor called down the University to check on dates for the 20-week ultrasound and fetal echo. We will be headed down for what I’m guessing to be a pretty long day on February 18th. In good Iowa City fashion our high-risk ultrasound is at 10:30 am and the fetal echo not until 1:30. They are pretty good at making you wait down there. We want to get a really good look at baby’s heart but suspect nothing, just a precaution. Over the past two years we have gotten to know so many great heart families. The majority of these families have other children, healthy children, so we aren’t worried. We planned this baby just like we planned Ellie so we hope everyone will congratulate us with positive words.
Another big upcoming appointment is Ellie’s next echo/cardiology check-up. It will be January 27th at 8:30am. This was our first six-month span for check-up’s in Iowa City and we made it! Say some prayers that we get good or stable news.
As always thanks for your support!
