Bye Bye Spring, Hello Summer!

The soccer season has official wrapped up. We are glad to have Daddy back home every night after work. With the nice spring weather we had this year Ellie and I actually made it to quite a few home games. Although I didn’t end up watching much of the games between snacks and potty breaks it was still fun to go out to see Daddy with all of his “soccer boys” as Ellie calls them. At every game she would say, “Can I say Go Lions now? Ok. GO LIONS!” She was quite the little cheerleader. One day she actually asked if we could go see the lions….minor mix up between the zoo and Daddy’s team, the Linn-Mar Lions. Luckily she wasn't disappointed when there were no real lions there.

Ellie got a new tricycle as a very early birthday present from Grandma Joe last week and she LOVES it! She practices everyday and is getting better at trying to pedal. Our sidewalk has the teeniest tiniest incline that makes her think she is pedaling the entire way; it’s a good confidence boost! I’m sure she’ll be cruisin’ up and down the sidewalk by the end of summer. After a week she has learned how to steer pretty well, we're making progress.

See my new bicycle?!

Monkey is hitchin' a ride behind Ellie here.

Monkey's turn to learn to ride. Go Monkey!

As for a baby update...I had my two-week OB check-up on Friday. Baby Girl’s heart rate was 140 again and I actually did not gain weight over the past two weeks. I guess I better have more brownies and ice cream, oh darn! I measured 33 cm this time so baby is growing. Dr. Hocking was not concerned about my size or the baby today so no ultrasound needed to check growth. My next appointment is in another two weeks. Along with the Group B Strep test she will check to see if all of those Braxton Hicks contractions I have been having are doing anything to help baby along. I kinda hope I’m dialated 2 or 3 centimeters! I’m getting very excited to see this little girl with only four more weeks to go.

We will leave you with some recent pool pics! Ellie loves being outside and playing in the water. She is such a little fishy.

Welcome summer!
